In October 20202 the Waikato Farmer’s Trust provided funding to Manawaru Playcentre for the development of a new playground.
“The new playground has provided an amazing new outdoor play space for the children” says a spokesperson for the centre.
The centre is also enabling additional play experiences for children in the wider community. There have been requests to visit from other playcentres in the Waikato region, and children in the new entrants’ class from Manawaru Primary School have attended the centre.
An official playground opening is planned for April 2021 alongside Manawaru Playcentre’s 50th birthday celebrations. The Playcentre is looking forward to an exciting year ahead to enjoying their new playground.
