KEITH HOLMES

Trustee

Keith Holmes has extensive experience in a range of governance and leadership roles across several sectors, including agricultural education, dairy, and stakeholder relations. 

Currently Waikato Federated Farmers’ Provincial President, Keith got his start in agriculture through the Federated Farmers farm cadet scheme. From there, he moved through sharemilker roles before owning sheep, dairy, and arable farms.  

He has held multiple roles across community organisations and boards, being involved with the WRC Integrated Catchment Committee, and the South Waikato Flood Protection Scheme, Director of NZ Dairy Group, Morrinsville College BOT, Chair South Auckland Region of YFC, Chair of South Auckland Agricultural Training Committee [prior to Ag. ITO]. Also many interests including the New Zealand Institute of Directors, Federated Farmers, New Zealand Farm Forestry Organisation, New Zealand Co-operatives Association, Rarebreeds Trust, and Coastguard, Tauhei Hapu and Marae and can occasionally be seen out sailing. 

Having recently sold his 900-head dairy farm, Keith is keen to give back to the farming communities of New Zealand through advocating for building rural people and their capabilities.
